Requested the Food and Shared a Recipe
Lim Seonggeun: "As a Fellow Business Owner, I Felt Deeply Sympathetic"
Chef Lim Seonggeun, winner of Olive Channel's "Korean Food War 3" and a popular contestant on Netflix's "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War 2," has been recognized for helping a restaurant affected by a no-show incident.
According to a recent post on an online community, a self-employed business owner, referred to as "A," who runs a grilled bulgogi restaurant in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, shared on their social media account that they had suffered losses due to a no-show.
According to A, at around 4:30 p.m. on December 27, they received a reservation order for a group of ten-six adults and four children-who said they would visit at 11:30 a.m. the following day. The order requested four servings of soy sauce-grilled meat and six servings of gochujang-grilled meat, totaling ten servings to be prepared in advance.
However, despite grilling all ten servings of meat ahead of time to meet the reservation, the customers never showed up and could not be reached.
While A was feeling discouraged, a customer dining in one corner of the restaurant kindly asked, "Could I have the meat that was already grilled?" That customer turned out to be Chef Lim Seonggeun.
Through his Instagram account, Chef Lim recalled, "The owner confided that ten people had no-showed, and as someone preparing to open my own restaurant, I felt deeply sympathetic. I asked if I could have the pre-grilled meat, and it was so delicious that I finished four servings in no time. To encourage the owner, I also shared a top-secret recipe."
