GS E&C CEO Huh Yoonhong: "Completing a Sustainable Growth System" ... New Year's Kick-off Ceremony Held at Busan Site

Huh Yoonhong, CEO of GS Engineering & Construction, held the New Year's kick-off ceremony on the 5th and stated, "2026 will be a crucial turning point to further solidify our fundamentals, build future capabilities, and complete a sustainable growth system."

On this day, CEO Huh conducted the ceremony at the upper facility construction site for the West Container Terminal (2-6) at Busan New Port and, through his New Year's address, presented the company's management direction to all executives and employees.

CEO Huh first emphasized safety and quality. He said, "Quality, safety, fair trade compliance, and ethical management are our unchanging core tasks and practical challenges we must achieve to become a sustainable company."

Additionally, CEO Huh announced plans to strengthen the company's core competitiveness by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). GS Engineering & Construction has already brought about tangible changes by automating repetitive work and improving the precision of process management through AI. He explained that by securing practical AI capabilities in daily work, the company will further solidify the foundation of quality, safety, process, and cost-essential competitive elements in the construction industry.

He also shared plans to further reinforce the company's long-term structure by focusing resources on highly competitive sectors through a strategy of selection and concentration, and by actively discovering new business opportunities in areas with high future growth potential.

The on-site kick-off ceremony was shared with all GS Engineering & Construction employees both domestically and abroad through the company's internal channel. GS Engineering & Construction stated, "By visiting regional sites that are physically distant and directly communicating the company's direction for the year, we emphasized to all employees our 'field-oriented' commitment, where every challenge and achievement begins and is completed at the field level."

Meanwhile, CEO Huh has held the New Year's kick-off ceremony at construction sites for three consecutive years, starting with the Maple Xi Apartment site in Seocho-gu, Seoul in 2024, followed by the Daesan Industrial Water Plant construction site in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do last year, and again at a field site this year.
