On January 5, independent research firm Bryers Insight analyzed that Mediana is leading innovation in the medical field by introducing Korea's first integrated wired and wireless artificial intelligence (AI) electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring service.

Mediana, established in 1995, is a specialized medical AI solutions company that supplies patient monitoring devices (PMD) to hospitals in over 80 countries worldwide. The company also broadly sells emergency and critical care medical devices such as automated external defibrillators (AED) and central patient monitoring systems (CMS).

Through collaboration with ATsens, Mediana has implemented an integrated service where real-time monitoring is conducted in intensive care units and high-risk wards using wired patient monitoring devices, and wireless monitoring continues after patient recovery using a wearable AI ECG testing solution.

Choi Jaeho, a researcher at Bryers Insight, stated, "Among medical AI solution companies, Mediana is significantly undervalued compared to its competitors," adding, "The nation's first integrated wired and wireless AI ECG solution is driving innovation in the market."

The company's technological competitiveness is also notable. ATsens' 14-day continuous long-term ECG monitor has become an international standard, having obtained all major certifications for the first time in Korea, including the U.S. FDA, Japan's PMDA, and Europe's CE. The product is already being sold in more than 10 countries globally.

Additionally, the real-time inpatient monitoring system 'AT-Monitoring' acquired insurance reimbursement (EX871) for remote heart rate monitoring technology from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service last year, simultaneously reducing the work burden and costs for medical and nursing staff. Researcher Choi explained, "Since the reimbursement was approved, the number of hospitals applying the technology has been rapidly increasing."

The core of this collaboration is that Mediana will directly sell ATsens' products. With Mediana's hospital network covering more than 5,000 beds, the pace of product adoption is expected to accelerate significantly. Researcher Choi predicted, "Considering Mediana's existing hospital network, the penetration rate of the wearable AI ECG solution could be faster than expected."

The technological entry barrier is also high. Mediana is the only company in Korea to offer both disposable and reusable product lineups. It has commercialized a compact, lightweight, 14-day continuous wearable ECG product that rivals the competing product from iRhythm Technologies, which holds the top market share in the U.S. wearable ECG analysis market, valued at around 8 trillion won. In Japan, Mediana has developed and is selling a disposable type product capable of 7-day continuous monitoring.

The market is also paying attention to the possibility of Mediana's revaluation. While the market capitalization of Seers Technology, which operates a similar business model, is about 1.5 trillion won, Mediana's market capitalization remains around 170 billion won. Researcher Choi assessed, "With the partnership with a globally competitive partner and the launch of Korea's first integrated wired and wireless AI ECG service, Mediana has entered a new phase of growth."
