Icheon City to Begin Pilot Operation of Janghowon 'Southern Bandabi Culture and Sports Center' from the 19th

Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 5 that it will begin pilot operations of the 'Bandabi Culture and Sports Center in Southern Icheon,' which has been constructed in Janghowon-eup, starting on the 19th.

The center is a sports and cultural space designed for both people with and without disabilities. It was built on a 9,005-square-meter site, with three underground floors and two above-ground floors, and has a total floor area of 2,833 square meters. The project was carried out with a budget of 30 billion won.

The center is equipped with sports facilities such as a swimming pool with five 25-meter lanes, a fitness center, GX and yoga rooms, and a multipurpose sports hall, as well as cultural facilities including a 260-seat performance hall, a cultural center, and club rooms.

The facilities will be operated by the Icheon City Facilities Management Corporation. They will be open to the public free of charge until the first half of this year, after which a paid system will be introduced in the second half. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and from May, hours will be extended from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. During the pilot operation period, priority access will be given to Icheon residents.

Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "The newly built Bandabi Culture and Sports Center in the southern region will become a hub for leisure activities and health promotion for residents of southern Icheon."
