Ansan City and Ansan Office of Education Cooperate on 'Future Education Cooperation District' Project

The city of Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, announced on January 5 that it had signed a business agreement with the Ansan Office of Education at Ansan City Hall on January 2 to promote the 'Ansan Future Education Cooperation District' project.

This agreement aims to expand student-centered educational support and create an environment for future-oriented education. Both institutions have agreed to cooperate in firmly establishing a sustainable foundation for future education through this agreement.

This project is an educational cooperation model implemented jointly by the local community and schools. Since 2016, it has been promoted as the 'Innovative Education District' project through agreements between local governments and offices of education, and in September 2023, the name was changed to 'Future Education Cooperation District.'

Starting this year, the city will transition the Future Education Cooperation District project to a 'Gyeonggi Shared School Customized' system, strengthening the role of the regional education cooperation platform to realize future-oriented education.

Under the agreement, the city will work with the Office of Education to implement 11 detailed projects, including the 'Ansan Embracing School' initiative, under three main objectives: autonomy, balance, and the future.

Mingun Lee, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "We will further develop the educational cooperation model where the local community and schools work together so that children can grow up happily," adding, "We will focus our administrative efforts on fostering talent to lead the future society and making Ansan a future-oriented educational city centered on education."
