[CES 2026] Samsung Display Unveils a Range of Future AI Concepts Including AI Pendant

Unveiling Next-Generation Foldable Panels and More

On January 5 (local time), Samsung Display unveiled a wide range of next-generation AI concept products aimed at future lifestyles, including an artificial intelligence (AI) pendant equipped with an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), at its CES 2026 media event held at Encore at Wynn in Las Vegas, United States.

The 'AI OLED Pendant' stimulates the imagination regarding futuristic AI devices that could replace smartphones. It is built using a 1.4-inch circular OLED. As a necklace-type device, it is easy to carry and operate via voice commands, and its display enables intuitive controls and information checks, thereby enhancing the usability of AI agents.

A Samsung Display representative explained, "OLED is thinner and lighter than liquid crystal displays (LCDs), making it the optimal display solution for securing battery space in compact AI devices."

The company also introduced the 'AI OLED Remote,' a remote control concept featuring a 1.3-inch circular OLED that allows users to conveniently integrate and control various AI devices in the home. Instead of searching for individual remotes for each device, users can imagine a daily life where all devices are easily managed through the AI OLED Remote placed in the living room.

In addition, Samsung Display exhibited several concept products, including the 'AI Mirror' (13.4-inch circular OLED), which uses a front-facing camera to check skin condition and body temperature and provides AI-powered beauty and health management advice; the 'AI Earphone Case' (1.3-inch circular OLED), which allows users to play music or adjust settings without taking out a separate smart device; and the 'AI Headset' (1.5-inch circular OLED).

At this exhibition, Samsung Display also unveiled its next-generation foldable panel. The company demonstrated the differences in how text appears between the 2024 foldable panel and the next-generation foldable panel when displayed in the center of each. The next-generation foldable panel shows noticeably less image degradation from light reflection or shadow at the folding area compared to the previous product. The crease depth of the next-generation foldable panel has been reduced by about 20% compared to the 2025 model.

As the crease becomes shallower, not only does visibility improve and user visual satisfaction increase, but the consistent touch experience is enhanced by reducing the sensation of fingers catching or slipping during screen operation. This delivers a premium user experience befitting high-end products. The company explained that it improved the crease of the next-generation foldable panel through ongoing research and development (R&D) innovations, such as optimizing the stacked structure.
