This is the first time Hyundai Motor Company has received an Innovation Award since participating in CES, and being honored with the highest-level Best Innovation Award is seen as recognition of both its robotics technology and product competitiveness.

The mass-production version of MobED, which was first unveiled at the International Robot Exhibition (iREX) in Japan in December of last year, has been reborn to be easily utilized in various businesses and daily life after about three years of product development following the debut of the concept model at CES 2022.

The most notable feature of MobED is its "driving stability that overcomes terrain limitations." By applying the eccentric wheel-based "DnL (Drive-and-Lift)" module, it allows the body to be adjusted to the desired tilt even on irregular surfaces or slopes, enabling stable driving. In addition, its minimalist and simple design allows for easy and convenient attachment of top modules for purposes such as delivery, logistics, or filming, making it highly versatile across various industries.

Another strength is its user-friendly interface, which allows anyone to operate it easily. The dedicated controller is implemented as a 3D graphic-based touchscreen, providing an intuitive and convenient user experience that anyone can handle with ease.

With a width of 74 cm, a length of 115 cm, and a maximum speed of 10 km/h, it can operate for over four hours on a single charge. The maximum load capacity ranges from 47 to 57 kg depending on the lineup. It is composed of the "Basic" model for research and development of autonomous robots and the "Pro" model equipped with autonomous driving technology, both of which are scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of this year.

Hyun Dongjin, Executive Vice President and Head of the Robotics Lab at Hyundai Motor Company, stated, "Winning the Best Innovation Award is an example of how Hyundai Motor Group's robotics technology is evolving to enhance everyday value," adding, "We will continue to develop AI-based robot autonomous driving technology to deliver innovative solutions that are closer to our customers."
