Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will be accepting applications for the 'Saebit House' home repair support project for aging low-rise homes from January 5 to February 27.
Saebit House is a program that provides financial support for home repair costs for aging low-rise houses within designated home repair support zones.
Eligible homes are single-family houses (including multi-family homes) and multi-unit residences (such as multiplex and row houses) with four floors or fewer, which have been in use for 20 years or more since their approval date.
The project supports home performance and landscape improvement works, as well as electrical work (such as replacement of old wiring and equipment). The amount of support is up to 90% of the total construction cost, with a maximum limit of 12 million won.
Homeowners wishing to apply for the Saebit House project must first check their eligibility on the Suwon City Home Repair Integrated Platform (www.suzip.or.kr), and then submit the required documents through a registered home repair support company by visiting the Home Repair Promotion Team at the Suwon Urban Foundation (2nd floor, Deoham Park, Suin-ro, Gwonseon-gu).
After document review and quantitative evaluation, the city plans to select the homes eligible for support through on-site inspections by the end of April.
Citizens seeking consultation or advice regarding the home repair support project can reserve a consultation appointment on the Home Repair Integrated Platform and receive expert advice (from architects or construction engineers) at on-site consultation booths located at Manseok Park and Exit 1 of Gosaek Station.
A 'visiting consultation' service is also available, where experts visit the home to discuss repair plans and provide guidance on construction details.
Suwon City held a ceremony in October 2023 to commemorate the first Saebit House home repair. To date, the city has supported repairs for 305 homes in 2023, 791 homes in 2024, and 1,003 homes in 2025, totaling 2,099 aging homes. The city is pursuing the goal of supporting 3,000 homes by 2026.
