Both Samsung and LG Unveil Their 'AI Roadmaps'
Taeman Noh: "Leading the Popularization of AI Experiences"
Taeman Noh, CEO of Samsung Electronics, and Jaecheol Ryu, CEO of LG Electronics, who have recently become the new heads of their companies' home appliance businesses, will make their global debut together at 'CES 2026.' As the competition in artificial intelligence (AI) technology intensifies, it is being noted that the rivalry between their respective AI visions is also heating up.
On January 4 (local time), ahead of the opening of CES 2026-the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA-CEO Noh attended 'The First Look' press conference, where he announced Samsung Electronics' AI vision and strategy. He stated, "By applying AI to all product categories and services of Samsung Electronics, we will enable customers to enjoy truly meaningful AI experiences," adding, "We will become an AI companion in customers' daily lives and lead the 'popularization of AI experiences.'"

As part of his execution strategy, he introduced: expanding customer choices through open collaboration; optimizing AI services by effectively combining on-device and cloud AI; strengthening AI interfaces such as SmartThings, One UI, and Now Brief; and enhancing security and AI reliability based on Samsung Knox.
CEO Ryu, who has been leading LG Electronics' home appliance business as Head of the Home Solution (HS) Business Division, is also expected to clearly present LG Electronics' unique AI direction. On January 5, at the 'LG World Premiere' press conference, CEO Ryu will unveil his vision and new product strategy under the theme 'Innovation Tailored to You.' He plans to showcase even more advanced AI-based technologies with 'Empathic Intelligence,' LG Electronics' distinctive AI vision, as the key concept.
Both CEO Noh and CEO Ryu were appointed to their positions through executive reshuffles last year. This marks their first appearance on the global stage since taking office as CEOs. With their CES debut, industry observers expect that both CEOs will clarify the direction of their AI strategies.
