Criticism Arises Over "Careless Behavior While on Hiatus"
Comedian Narae Park, who has suspended her activities due to various controversies including allegations of mistreatment toward her manager, pressed 'like' on a post by Sook Kim on social networking services (SNS).
On December 30, Sook Kim uploaded a photo from her attendance at the '2025 MBC Entertainment Awards' on SNS. Along with the photo, she wrote, "Seven years on 'Where Is My Home,' five years on 'Late Night Ghost Talk,' and this year I even appeared on the Seoul Music Festival episode of 'Hangout With Yoo.' It was a busy year. I am grateful to those who supported me behind the scenes."
Many celebrities left congratulatory comments on the post, and it was revealed that Narae Park's account pressed 'like' during this process. Although she did not leave a direct comment, it appears she quietly expressed her congratulations.
At this awards ceremony, Sook Kim received the Top Excellence Award, mentioning the production team and cast by name, and finally referring to 'Team Leader Narae.' 'Team Leader Narae' is Narae Park's nickname on the MBC variety show 'Where Is My Home.'
Some internet users pointed out that it was inappropriate for Narae Park to be active on SNS while effectively in a period of self-reflection. They criticized her online reaction as being careless, given that investigations and legal disputes are ongoing regarding various allegations.
Recently, Narae Park's former managers claimed that she was involved in workplace bullying, verbal abuse, aggravated assault, errands for proxy prescriptions, unsettled expenses, and that she received illegal medical services from the so-called 'Injection Aunt.' They filed for a provisional seizure, which was granted by the court. The related matters are currently under investigation.
Former manager A claimed, "I was verbally abused for not drinking alcohol, and my hand was injured by a glass thrown by Narae Park, which required a visit to the emergency room." Additional allegations were raised that, during the operation of 'Narae Bar,' staff were forced to run errands for snacks and be on standby 24 hours a day, leading to a rapid deterioration of public opinion.
In response, on December 8, Narae Park released a statement declaring, "I will suspend all broadcasting activities until every issue is clearly resolved." At the same time, she has responded with counter-lawsuits. She filed a criminal complaint for attempted extortion, claiming that her former managers demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of last year's revenue through false claims, and later submitted an additional complaint for embezzlement.
