Lee Sanggeun, Governor of Goseong County in South Gyeongsang Province, began the new year by collecting trash and encouraging environmental workers.
According to Goseong County on January 4, Governor Lee participated in a trash collection experience with environmental workers in the early morning cold, with temperatures below freezing, on January 2, 2026, to mark the start of the new year. He spent meaningful time listening to the challenges faced on-site and the difficulties experienced by the workers.
Every day at 6 a.m., as dawn breaks while everyone is still asleep, 51 sanitation truck drivers and environmental public workers from the Goseong County Environmental Division begin collecting trash throughout neighborhoods across the county.
On this day, Governor Lee joined the environmental workers in trash collection, checking on the safety of on-site workers and communicating with them.
Governor Lee stated, "In the new year, I will do my utmost to ensure that environmental administrative services, which are closely tied to the daily lives of residents, are provided thoroughly so that there is no inconvenience for the people of the county."
