People Power Party's Eunseok Choi Criticizes Lee Jaemyung Administration's Economic Policies, Presents Alternatives... Wins 'National Audit Public Interest Award'

Eunseok Choi, a member of the People Power Party (Daegu Dong-gu and Gunwi-gun Gap), announced on the 4th that he had been awarded the '2025 National Audit Public Interest Award' by the Korea Law Consumers Association for the 2025 National Assembly Audit. With this, he has been recognized as an outstanding member of the National Assembly Audit for two consecutive years, following last year.

Assemblyman Choi was evaluated as having conducted a policy-focused audit based on objective data and empirical evidence, drawing on his experience as a former CEO in the real economy during the 2025 Planning and Finance Committee National Assembly Audit. In particular, he was highly praised for identifying the amateurish economic policies and structural problems in state administration under the Lee Jaemyung government, thoroughly examining a wide range of economic issues, and not only raising problems but also presenting concrete alternatives.

Specifically, he criticized the economic and fiscal policies of the Lee Jaemyung administration, now in its fifth month in power, as a continuation of 'amateurish state administration,' pointing out that reckless fiscal management has led to a rapid increase in national debt and that policy conflicts have caused serious confusion. He also highlighted that the lack of a master plan in tax and industrial policy is simultaneously destabilizing both future strategic industries and the nation's key industries.

In particular, he strongly criticized the '10·15 Real Estate Policy,' stating that despite the strengthening of property taxes, it failed to stabilize housing prices, forced low-income groups into rental hardship, and effectively kicked away the ladder to homeownership.

Regarding his constituency, Daegu, he called for the formation of a dedicated government task force to expedite the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport project and urged the government to come up with solutions to the unsold apartment problem in non-metropolitan areas. In addition, he demanded increased customs personnel and equipment to respond to the surge in drug smuggling, and emphasized the need for a comprehensive master plan and strong execution to revitalize Daegu's economy. He was recognized for presenting concrete policy alternatives to help the stagnant regional economy rebound.
