Securing New Growth Engines as the Key Theme for 2026
"Expand Specialty Businesses... Accelerate Global Expansion"
Kim Yoon, Chairman of Samyang Group, identified "rapid responsiveness" as the core management principle for the new year. He believes that speed and flexibility are crucial for survival in a business environment where uncertainty has become the norm. Chairman Kim emphasized the need to secure new growth engines, calling for a shift to high value-added businesses and global expansion.
On January 2, Samyang Group held its New Year's event, the "2026 Samyang New Day Connect," at the Discovery Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. This event, introduced last year as a replacement for the traditional kick-off ceremony, was designed to share the previous year's achievements and the goals for the coming year, while strengthening communication among employees. To accommodate employees at overseas and regional business sites, the event was also broadcast live online.

In his New Year's message, Chairman Kim stressed, "In a business environment with high uncertainty, how quickly and flexibly a company can respond to various situations determines its survival and success." He added, "In line with the group's purpose system, we must expand our high value-added specialty business portfolio, including semiconductors, personal care, and eco-friendly materials, and accelerate our global expansion."
Chairman Kim also highlighted the importance of understanding the market to identify new growth opportunities. He said, "We need to strengthen our marketing capabilities to quickly detect and prepare for changes in the global market. By thoroughly analyzing market trends and clearly understanding our competitive advantages, we can identify proactive strategies and offer differentiated value to customers." He further stated, "Finding new businesses requires significant time and effort, so a persistent spirit of challenge is essential. Please dedicate yourselves wholeheartedly to securing the group's future growth engines with a pioneering mindset that is unafraid of failure."
He also urged continued implementation of the group's three major management policies. Chairman Kim said, "The three key policies-advancing the specialty business portfolio, managing with a focus on cash flow, and accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) transformation-can only be achieved through consistent execution from a long-term perspective. Please make these your top priorities in your work."
The event also included the Chairman's Award ceremony, the introduction of new executives, and the announcement of the company's "praise king." The Chairman's Award was presented to Yoon Hyesung, Team Leader at Samyang Biopharm's Pharmaceutical and Bio Research Institute. Team Leader Yoon developed four types of absorbable hemostatic agents under the "Surgiguard" brand, which were recognized as "2025 Korea Next-Generation World-Class Products" by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
