Green Bogeumjari Loan Benefits Now Extended
to Zero Energy Building (ZEB) Certified Homes
Homes that save energy through solar power and high-efficiency equipment can now also enjoy financial benefits.
The Korea Housing Finance Corporation (President Kim Kyunghwan) announced that when purchasing a home certified as a Zero Energy Building (ZEB), borrowers using the Bogeumjari Loan will receive a preferential interest rate of 0.1 percentage points.
The Zero Energy Building certification is a system designed to minimize energy use in buildings and promote efficient energy management. In accordance with the Green Building Promotion Support Act, six organizations, including the Korea Real Estate Board and the Korea Green Climate Technology Institute, issue these certifications.
Until now, the corporation has provided preferential interest rates under the Green Bogeumjari Loan to homes with a Green Building Certification (G-SEED) of grade 2 or higher. With this policy improvement, Zero Energy Buildings are now also eligible for the same preferential interest rates.
Customers wishing to use the Green Bogeumjari Loan can check whether their home qualifies through the Zero Energy Building certification system and submit a copy of the Zero Energy Building certificate online when applying for the loan.
Kim Kyunghwan, President of the Korea Housing Finance Corporation, stated, "This policy improvement aims to expand financial support for eco-friendly homes and participate in the government's green finance activation policy," adding, "We will continue to enhance our policy mortgage programs to reflect environmental, social, and governance values."
