On January 2, President Lee Jae-myung urged everyone to faithfully fulfill their respective roles with the determination that "while the people may rest, the Republic of Korea never rests," during the New Year's kick-off ceremony at the Blue House.
The Blue House announced that President Lee made these remarks while attending the kick-off ceremony for all staff, which was held at the State Guesthouse at 10 a.m. that day.
This kick-off ceremony was the first all-staff event since returning to the Blue House, and the Blue House explained that it served as an opportunity for President Lee to communicate directly with public officials, clearly expressing his commitment to on-site communication and people-centered governance.
President Lee repeatedly emphasized to the staff the sense of responsibility and mission of public officials who are accountable for the lives of the people. He asked them to deeply recognize that every mindset and action of a public official is directly connected to the lives and futures of countless citizens, and to sincerely dedicate themselves to their duties.
President Lee went on to encourage the staff, saying, "The majority of public officials are already faithfully fulfilling their duties," and stressed that "the Republic of Korea now stands at an important turning point," urging them to fully carry out their historic mission as public servants until the end.
