“Burying the Past, Answering with Tomorrow’s Yangsan”… Yangsan City Holds 2026 New Year Memorial at Memorial Tower

On the first day of the new year, the clock in Yangsan City began at the Memorial Tower.

On January 2, 2026, Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province held a New Year’s memorial ceremony at the plaza of the Memorial Tower in Chunchu Park to honor the noble sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes. The city also reaffirmed its commitment to a major leap forward in the new year, marking the 30th anniversary of its elevation to city status.

More than 100 people attended the event, including Yangsan Mayor Na Dongyeon, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, and heads of local organizations.

After the memorial, Mayor Na Dongyeon expressed his ambition, stating, "Embracing the powerful energy of the Year of the Red Horse, I will make 2026, the 30th anniversary of Yangsan's elevation to city status, a year of great advancement for Yangsan."
