"Support for the Vision of a Startup and Venture Boom Era"

The startup community has expressed strong support for President Lee Jaemyung's New Year's address for the Year of Byeongo.

The Korea Startup Forum (KOSPO) released a statement on January 2, saying, "We actively welcome and support President Lee Jaemyung's vision for a 'Startup and Venture Boom Era' and a 'Startup-Centered Society,' as outlined in his New Year's address."

KOSPO stated, "The government's bold and timely decision to shift the paradigm from 'growth centered around a few large corporations' to 'growth for all,' where opportunities and rewards are shared, is crucial for the sustainable future of the Korean economy. In particular, the government's clear recognition of startups as the main drivers of innovation, and its commitment to creating an environment where they can freely take on challenges, will greatly empower our startup ecosystem."

The statement continued, "We strongly agree with and support the President's remarks on shifting the social focus from 'employment' to 'entrepreneurship,' and on building a safety net where failure becomes an asset, thereby providing young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to boldly take on new challenges."

KOSPO added, "We hope to see a structure take root in which the value of innovation created by startups is fully recognized and its benefits flow into the lives of both companies and citizens. KOSPO will do its utmost, in close cooperation with the government, to strengthen Korea's global competitiveness and achieve a great leap forward toward becoming a world-class nation."
