[New Year’s Address] LG Uplus President Hong Beomsik: “Growing Together on the Foundation of Trust... Success Will Follow”

Hong Beomsik, President of LG Uplus, urged all employees to achieve sustainable growth based on trust as they welcome the New Year 2026.

In his 2026 New Year’s message sent to all LG Uplus employees on January 2, President Hong stated, “2026 will be a year in which we expand our experiences of success and accumulate real achievements regarding the future competitiveness we have designed.” He emphasized, “The powerful driving force that makes this possible is trust.”

He went on to define trust as the belief in keeping promises to customers, confidence in the direction, and faith in one another. He predicted, “When trust is built, it creates a competitive edge that others cannot follow and accelerates our success, leading to outstanding results.”

President Hong described the previous year as “a year in which we designed the big picture for the direction and strategy we must pursue.” He said, “Last year was a time when we clarified the areas and priorities of our distinctive competitiveness,” adding, “This strategic direction will remain our guiding principle this year, becoming more advanced and concrete, and serving as the foundation for all our actions.”

He encouraged employees to take on new challenges based on trust, presenting the keyword ‘TRUST.’ This word summarizes five mindsets: a commitment to keeping promises with customers (T), the courage to reveal problems (R), solidarity based on trust (U), understanding through customer segmentation (S), and change brought about by praise and gratitude (T). It represents a strategy to achieve sustainable growth through trust.

President Hong proposed ‘TRUST’ as the mindset for members to embody in order to realize the new brand slogan, ‘Simply. U+.’

First, T (Thrive on Trust) means a commitment to keeping promises with customers and mutual trust. R (Red Reveals, We Rise) refers to the courage to bring issues to light and solve them together. U (Unite Around the Hardest Challenges) signifies solidarity. S (Segment Deep, Act Smart) means deeply understanding customers through segmentation and focusing on selection and concentration. Finally, T (Thank, Think, and Transform) is about the power of gratitude and praise, and the changes that come from thoughtful reflection.

President Hong concluded his New Year’s address by saying, “By practicing TRUST, we can go beyond fulfilling promises to customers and leap higher and farther toward a brighter world. Practicing TRUST together with each and every one of you, and realizing Simply Uplus, is the most reassuring and grateful thing.”
