Seo Cheolmo, Mayor of Seo District in Daejeon, stated in his New Year's address, "Amid discussions on expanding the Chungcheong region's metropolitan transportation network, I will usher in a new era of 'Seo District Renaissance.' He added, "With the potential changes in the urban environment in mind, I will continue to pursue an administration that maintains a balanced perspective on all aspects of transportation, housing, and living conditions."

Mayor Seo emphasized, "The Chungcheong Metropolitan Express Railway (CTX) is not merely an expansion of the transportation network," and said, "It means that our Seo District will stand at the center of the Chungcheong region's metropolitan economic axis, connecting Daejeon, Sejong, and North Chungcheong."

He stated, "We will pay close attention to children, families, and vulnerable groups, taking a step closer to areas where administrative support is needed." He continued, "Rather than flashy welfare policies, our priority is to ensure that not a single resident is left behind through careful consideration."

He further said, "The most innovative administration is one that adheres to the basics and listens to the voices of residents." He added, "Instead of hastily adopting new technologies, we will utilize AI and big data to enhance administrative efficiency and seek solutions in the field, not just at our desks, so that residents experience no inconvenience when using civil services."

Mayor Seo also shared his thoughts on the everyday happiness of citizens.

He promised, "We will develop Seo District's natural tourism attractions, such as the Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park, which has become a new landmark of Daejeon, into spaces where residents can comfortably enjoy nature in their daily lives while preserving its value." He added, "Even without traveling far, we will offer the simple happiness of enjoying nature and culture right in front of your home."

He concluded, "This year, I will diligently oversee the projects I promised, achieve tangible results, and humbly address any shortcomings so that this year becomes one of 'responsible administration' as we prepare for a new future." He emphasized, "With the solid foundation built through 'responsible administration,' Seo District will now make a bold leap toward greater heights."
