The 27th Ttangkkeut Sunset and Sunrise Festival, which celebrates both the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, was held with great success in Ttangkkeut Village, Haenam County, South Jeolla Province.
Haenam County announced that a variety of events took place over two days, from December 31 to January 1, in Ttangkkeut Village, a famous spot where visitors can enjoy both the sunset and sunrise in one place.

On the evening of December 31, various performances, including the Ttangkkeut Music Concert, heightened the year-end atmosphere. At midnight, the highlight of the festival unfolded as a large-scale fireworks show lit up the night sky during the New Year's countdown, marking the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.
During the sunrise event on the morning of January 1, programs wishing for good fortune in the Year of the Red Horse (Byeongo Year) were held, including a traditional drum and fusion percussion performance, a boat-floating ritual, and the release of wish lanterns.
Additionally, on the afternoon of December 31, the sunset festival was held at Hwawon Oceano Tourist Complex, featuring a ceremonial ritual, celebratory performances, and a fireworks show against the backdrop of the West Sea sunset. At dawn on January 1, a sunrise ceremony, performances, and a rice cake soup sharing event were held at Ososae Park on Duryunsan Mountain in Bukil-myeon, offering visitors warm New Year's greetings.
County Governor Myung Hyun-kwan said, "In the hopeful Byeongo Year, I wish to share with everyone the vibrant and energetic spirit of the rising sun, filled with the energy of the Red Horse. I hope that by welcoming the first sunrise of the year together at Ttangkkeut Haenam, the beginning of the Korean Peninsula, everyone will be blessed with health and happiness."
