[New Year's Address] Ki-Yeon Hwang, President of Korea Eximbank: "Major Leap for Korean Economy Through Export Financial Support" Ki-Yeon Hwang, President of the Export-Import Bank of Korea

On January 1, Ki-Yeon Hwang, President of the Export-Import Bank of Korea, stated in his New Year's address, "We will support a major leap forward for the Korean economy through comprehensive financial support to strengthen export competitiveness."


President Hwang emphasized, "We will make every effort to expand the supply of policy finance to achieve a loan balance of at least 165 trillion won by 2028," adding, "This year, we will begin investing in venture capital (VC) funds and significantly expand our role as a provider of productive finance by driving more than 3 trillion won in private investment by 2028."


He continued, "We will supply more than 110 trillion won in total funding over the next three years to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies with technological capabilities and growth potential. In addition, we will further strengthen the transparency and accountability of the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and fundamentally enhance the effectiveness of policy finance by accelerating our transition to artificial intelligence (AI)."
