Hyungduk Park, Mayor of Dongducheon, delivered a New Year’s address for the upcoming 2026 Byeongo Year, expressing his wishes for the well-being of citizens and pledging to ensure stable, citizen-focused city administration.

In his address, Mayor Park began by saying, "As we welcome the Year of the Red Horse, which symbolizes strong vitality and an enterprising spirit, I wish health and happiness to all your families," extending his New Year’s greetings.

Mayor Park identified "stable administration" and "on-site administration that citizens can truly feel" as the core keywords for this year’s city management.

He stated, "Dongducheon currently faces various administrative challenges, such as changes in population structure and local conditions," adding, "We will carefully examine and improve every necessary aspect, focusing on matters directly affecting the lives of our citizens."

In particular, Mayor Park made it clear that he is determined to resolve inconveniences in citizens’ daily lives.

He said, "We will not only ensure that ongoing urban environment improvement projects proceed as planned, but also meticulously inspect the living infrastructure in both the original downtown and residential areas to bring about changes that citizens can truly experience."
