"Creating Jobs and Addressing Corporate Labor Shortages"
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province is recruiting companies to participate in the "2026 Youth and Middle-Aged Employment Support Project."
According to the county on December 31, this project was launched to create stable jobs for young people and the middle-aged, as well as to help local companies address labor shortages. A total of four individuals will be selected-two for youth employment support (ages 18-39) and two for middle-aged employment support (ages 40-69)-and will be offered opportunities for full-time employment.
Companies that newly hire youth or middle-aged employees will receive wage subsidies of 700,000 won per person per month for up to one year.
To encourage long-term retention of youth and middle-aged employees participating in the project, an employment incentive will be provided for up to two years: youth can receive up to 3 million won, and middle-aged employees up to 2 million won.
Eligible companies must be based in Jangsu County, have at least three regular employees enrolled in employment insurance, and either hire a new youth employee who has been with the company for less than six months or recruit an unemployed individual.
In addition, the total monthly salary paid to youth employees, including the subsidy, must meet or exceed the minimum wage.
The purpose of this project is to establish a foundation for youth and middle-aged individuals to work stably within the region while also alleviating the workforce supply burden on small and medium-sized enterprises.
The county expects that tailored employment support by age group will contribute to local employment stability and revitalize the regional economy.
County Governor Choi Hunsik stated, "We are continuing to provide practical support so that youth and middle-aged individuals can find stable jobs in the region and companies can secure the necessary workforce. Going forward, we will continue to create an employment environment that residents can truly feel, through job policies tailored to local conditions."
Meanwhile, companies wishing to participate in the project can apply to the Agricultural Industry Policy Division at the county office by January 16 of next year.
