"Easing Financial Burdens to Boost the Local Economy"
Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) will implement the 2026 SME Working Capital Interest Subsidy Support Project to ease the financial burden on local small and medium-sized enterprises suffering from high interest rates, high inflation, and economic slowdown, and to support stable business operations.
This project targets SMEs with business locations in Gyeongsan City. If these companies receive a loan recommendation from the city and obtain working capital loans from one of 13 partner financial institutions, a portion of the loan interest will be subsidized for one year.
The maximum loan limit per company is 400 million won, and the interest subsidy rate is up to 2% per year for general companies, and up to 3% per year for women-owned, disabled-owned, and award-winning companies, which are eligible for preferential support.
Taking into account the recent increase in demand for funds among SMEs, the city has significantly expanded the scale of loan recommendations for 2026 from 70 billion won in the previous year to 100 billion won, allowing more companies to benefit from the program.
Mayor Cho Hyunil of Gyeongsan City stated, "The SME Working Capital Interest Subsidy Project has high policy effectiveness, with high demand on the ground leading to early exhaustion of funds. By expanding the scope of support, we aim to facilitate smooth financial management and stable production activities for companies, improve investment conditions, and ultimately strengthen the competitiveness of local industries."
Applications for this project can be submitted online via the G-Fund system or in person at the Gyeongsan City Hall Business Policy Division starting January 5 next year. For more details, please refer to the Gyeongsan City Hall website.
