Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital Team Leaders Jang Chanyoung and Jung Mikyung Receive Ministerial Commendations

Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital announced on December 31 that Jang Chanyoung, General Affairs Team Leader, and Jung Mikyung, Infection Control Team Leader, have each received commendations from the Minister of Health and Welfare and the Minister of Education, respectively.

Team Leader Jang Chanyoung was awarded the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for contributions to establishing an anti-terrorism and disaster response system. Overseeing the hospital's disaster response department, he led the development of emergency plans and simulation drills and systematically strengthened disaster response capabilities for multi-use facilities through joint training with related agencies such as the police, fire department, and public health center.

In addition, over the past five years, he has expanded practical training for various disaster types, including IT system failures, fires, and gas leaks, and was highly recognized for improving initial response procedures and decision-making systems.

Team Leader Jung Mikyung received the Minister of Education Commendation in recognition of her contributions to the advancement of public education. Since joining the hospital in 1993, she has developed expertise in nursing immunocompromised critical patients in the hematology ward and outpatient clinic. As head nurse, she has contributed to improving the quality of ward nursing through the training of new nurses and standardization of nursing practices.

In particular, since 2023, as the leader of the infection control team, she has reorganized the infection control education system for all staff and has worked to strengthen community infection control capabilities through academic and training activities at local societies.

Hospital Director Min Jeongjun stated, "This is a recognition of their on-site professionalism and safety capabilities," adding, "We will continue to strengthen patient safety and our responsibility for public healthcare."
