"I Want to Give Electric Blankets to Neighbors in Need During the Cold Weather"

Kim Chaewon and Kim Dokyung, siblings attending Seongju Elementary School in Seongju County, North Gyeongsang Province, are spreading warmth throughout the local community by practicing neighborly love as the year comes to an end.

On December 30, Seongju County announced that the siblings visited the county office and delivered a piggy bank they had diligently filled over the past year to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.

This donation is even more meaningful as it continues the tradition they began last year.

The siblings' parents, who cultivate oriental melons in Seonnam-myeon, explained the reason for their visit, saying, "We have always devoted ourselves to teaching our children at home to help and care for others from a young age."

Kim Chaewon, who participated in the donation ceremony, said with a shy smile, "With the money saved in my piggy bank, I want to buy warm electric blankets for grandmothers and grandfathers who cannot afford heating even in the cold weather. I will work hard to save again and come back next year."

An official from Seongju County expressed gratitude, saying, "The pure hearts of these young siblings will bring great hope to neighbors in need during the cold winter."

The donation delivered on this day will be used by the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to fund welfare projects for low-income and vulnerable groups in the region.
