The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 31st that Sung Hyuk Park, Advisor at Cheil Worldwide, has been appointed as President of the Korea Tourism Organization. The term of office for the new President, Sung Hyuk Park, is three years.
Sung Hyuk Park previously served as Head of the Global Division (Executive Vice President) at Cheil Worldwide, overseeing international marketing strategy. He also held positions as Head of the German branch, Head of Europe, and Head of North America.

The Ministry described the new President as "a marketing expert who has led the establishment and execution of business strategies in key overseas markets," adding, "He is recognized for his strategic planning capabilities from an international perspective, hands-on execution experience, and outstanding organizational management skills, including successfully turning multiple overseas subsidiaries from deficit to surplus."
Minister Choi Hwi-young stated, "At this crucial moment when Korea must advance as a tourism powerhouse, the Korea Tourism Organization plays a pivotal role as the field implementation agency of tourism policy, connecting regions and industries and making tourism a key driver of national growth and balanced development." He added, "The new President, as an expert with international marketing capabilities and organizational management skills, is expected to play a major role in transforming the 'K-Tourism' paradigm and achieving the national goal of attracting 30 million inbound tourists ahead of schedule."
