Hopeful Performances, Ceremonies, and County Government Awards
Sharing Messages of Resilience and Hope

Sancheong County, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on the 31st that it held the "Again, Sancheong" event and the County Government Meritorious Service Awards Ceremony at the Culture and Arts Center, expressing gratitude to organizations, public officials, and residents who contributed to the county's development and disaster recovery over the past year.

This event, held under the themes "Sancheong Rising Again" and "Cheer Up, Sancheong!", looked back on the county's efforts to overcome major disasters such as wildfires and heavy rainfall in 2025. It was organized as an opportunity for residents to reaffirm their hope and determination for a new leap forward together.

The event began with a pre-ceremony performance by the Sinan Wind Orchestra and a screening of a documentary video chronicling Sancheong County's disaster recovery process. This was followed by a hopeful placard performance and a paper airplane event, featuring messages such as "United Sancheong," "Again, Sancheong," and "Cheer Up, Sancheong!", which received an enthusiastic response from attendees.

During the main ceremony, awards were presented to departments and public officials who achieved outstanding results in evaluations conducted by central government ministries and South Gyeongsang Province, as well as to civic groups and residents who dedicated themselves to disaster response and community development. Additional awards recognized meritorious service in disaster response.

In particular, village leaders, volunteer organizations, firefighters, and officials from relevant agencies who were actively involved in the field during wildfires and heavy rainfall were honored, providing a moment to reflect on their hard work.

In his year-end address, County Governor Lee Seunghwa said, "I am deeply grateful to the residents who endured and prioritized their neighbors even in the face of two major disasters," adding, "In 2026, Sancheong will not only rise again but also take a further leap forward."

He went on to emphasize, "We will go beyond simple restoration to build a safer and stronger Sancheong, and we will devote all our efforts so that residents can feel tangible changes in all aspects of their lives."

Through this event, Sancheong County plans to continue its path of recovery and growth together with its residents, under the county government vision of 'A New Change, A Happier Sancheong for All.'
