Seoul Metro to Launch Largest Local Public Enterprise Recruitment with 820 New Hires

Fulfilling Labor-Management Agreement
Applications Open from January 13

Seoul Metro will publicly recruit a total of 820 new employees across 15 fields. The company announced on December 30 that it will begin accepting job applications from January 13 next year. This recruitment drive fulfills the commitment to create youth jobs agreed upon by labor and management during the wage agreement on December 12, and represents the largest recruitment among local public enterprises.

The recruitment breakdown is as follows: 174 for administration, 207 for train operation, 167 for rolling stock, 28 for electrical, 28 for information and communications, 41 for track, 38 for signaling, 39 for mechanical, 14 for electronics, 19 for civil engineering, 31 for architecture, 23 for platform screen doors, 6 for subway security, 3 for health management, and 2 for security guards, totaling 820 positions.


Except for security guards and skilled professionals, all successful candidates will be hired as internship employees, and after a three-month internship and evaluation, they will be appointed as regular staff. Applications can be submitted online via the company website (www.seoulmetro.co.kr) from 10:00 a.m. on January 13 to 6:00 p.m. on January 19.


The recruitment process consists of a document screening, written test, personality assessment, and interview. The written test will be held on February 7 and will cover two subjects: the NCS basic vocational competency test and the job performance competency test. For the security guard field, the test will be replaced by private security theory and general knowledge. Details such as the test location will be announced on the company website on February 2.


Han Younghee, Head of Planning at Seoul Metro (acting CEO), stated, "Although the management environment is challenging, based on trust between labor and management, we are conducting a large-scale public recruitment in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to secure essential personnel for citizen safety and to create youth jobs.
