Eunkyung Kim, HUFS Professor, Nominated as New President of Korea Inclusive Finance Agency

The Financial Services Commission announced on December 30 that Chairman Lee Eogwon has nominated Eunkyung Kim, Professor at the Law School of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, to serve as the new President of the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency and Chairperson of the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service.

The Commission evaluated that Professor Kim has achieved outstanding research results, publishing various academic papers during her 20-year tenure as a professor. It also noted her contributions to financial consumer protection while serving as Director General of Consumer Protection at the Financial Supervisory Service from 2020 to 2023.

Furthermore, the Commission added that, based on her academic expertise and experience in financial supervision, she is considered the right candidate to provide prompt and effective support to financially vulnerable groups, which is why she has been nominated as President of the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency and Chairperson of the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service.
