Thirteen Private Sector and Public Officials Honored
Awards Presented for Best Policy, Public Relations, and Civil Service Excellence
The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority held its annual 'Performance Sharing Day' to wrap up the year and recognize each other's efforts.
On December 30, the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (BJFEZ, led by Commissioner Park Seongho) hosted the '2025 BJFEZ Performance Sharing Day' at the agency's PR center, commending individuals and outstanding departments and employees who contributed to the development of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone over the past year.
This event was organized to mark the end of 2025 by sharing achievements and recognizing the dedication and hard work of both the public and private sectors.
The ceremony began with awards presented to both private sector and public officials who contributed to the development of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone. In the private sector, Silas Pang, CEO of PSA, and Bae Soyoon, manager at Dongwon Global Terminal Busan, were honored with awards.
Next, the 'Performance Sharing Day' Excellence Awards were presented. This year, awards were given to departments and employees who achieved outstanding results in three categories: ▲BJFEZ BEST Policy Excellence ▲Excellence in Public Relations ▲Excellence in Civil Service Mileage Evaluation.
In the 'BJFEZ BEST Policy' category, the Development Departments 1 and 2 jointly received the top award for their efforts in identifying new candidate sites for free economic zones, which laid the foundation for mid- to long-term growth.
Other departments that produced key achievements-such as normalizing the Ungdong District 1 development project and attaining an S grade for four consecutive years in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's national free economic zone performance evaluation-received excellence and encouragement awards.
In his year-end address, Commissioner Park Seongho stated, "Despite challenging circumstances both domestically and internationally, 2025 was a year of meaningful achievements. As we enter a crucial turning point with the full-scale construction of the Gadeokdo New Airport and Jinhae New Port, we will focus our capabilities on making BJFEZ the first-choice investment hub for global companies and an advanced business hub where innovation and sustainability coexist."
The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority plans to continue fostering a performance-oriented organizational culture and boosting staff morale, thereby contributing to regional economic revitalization and strengthening national competitiveness.
