A man in his 20s, who was working as a cash delivery agent for a voice phishing organization, was robbed on the street, prompting the police to begin tracking the suspect.

According to the police on December 30, the Seoul Songpa Police Station urgently arrested a Chinese national man in his 20s, identified as A, the previous day on suspicion of violating the Act on the Prevention of Damage from Telecommunications-based Financial Fraud.

It has been determined that at around 6:55 p.m. the previous day, A was carrying cash to deliver to the organization while walking on a street in Samjeon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, when B stole 4 million won in cash and other items from him. B reportedly dragged A into a nearby parking lot, threatened him with a weapon, and then took the money.

After receiving a report and arriving at the scene, the police analyzed nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and discovered A participating in voice phishing activities in the Songpa-gu area, leading to his urgent arrest.

The police are tracking the robbery suspect and are also investigating the possibility that both individuals worked for the same voice phishing organization, as they work to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
