According to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) and other sources on the 30th, Chairperson Yoo has submitted his resignation letter.
Chairperson Yoo, who attended Seoul National University School of Law with former President Yoon Suk-yeol, faced criticism from the opposition at the time of his appointment, with some calling it a 'reward appointment.'
During Chairperson Yoo's tenure, there was controversy over the ACRC's allegedly lenient investigation into the luxury bag allegations involving First Lady Kim Keon-hee. President Lee Jae-myung is expected to decide as early as today whether to accept the resignation.
