[New Year's Address] Kim Taehum: "Strong Chungnam, Record-Breaking Achievements Unwavering Until End of Term" Kim Taehum, Governor of Chungnam Province

Kim Taehum, Governor of Chungnam Province, marked the New Year by stating, "Strong Chungnam is not just a slogan, but has been proven through results," and pledged, "I will unwaveringly keep my promises to the residents until the end of my term."

He emphasized that record-breaking achievements have been made in securing national funding, attracting investment, and fulfilling pledges, and assessed that Chungnam's fundamentals have been fundamentally transformed.

In his New Year's address on December 30, Governor Kim said, "From the moment I took office, I have done my utmost every moment to ensure that the promises I made to the residents-'Strong Chungnam' and 'A New History for Chungnam'-would not be in vain. Chungnam has definitely changed now."

He cited the areas of finance and investment as representative accomplishments. The amount of national funding secured has increased by over 1 trillion won each year, expanding from 8.3 trillion won at the time of his inauguration to 12.3 trillion won.

In terms of investment attraction, proactive sales administration efforts have resulted in a cumulative total of 43.72 trillion won. Governor Kim described this as "an unprecedented achievement in the history of the provincial government," and added, "The promised goal of 45 trillion won will also be smoothly achieved within my term."

Governor Kim emphasized, "With the principle of always keeping promises made to the residents, Chungnam has received the highest (SA) rating for three consecutive years in the national city and provincial pledge evaluation, and the pledge fulfillment rate reached 84 percent, ranking first nationwide."

In particular, he highlighted achievements such as the establishment of the Naepo Campus at Chungnam National University, the founding of the TBN Traffic Broadcasting Station, the designation of Garorim Bay as the first National Marine Ecological Park, as well as the attraction of major national projects and core institutions including organic light-emitting displays and the Geumsan pumped-storage power plant.

Governor Kim credited these accomplishments to the support of the residents and the dedication of public officials, stating, "All these achievements were made possible together."

He then presented five key tasks: restructuring agriculture and rural areas, creating the Bay Valley Megacity, leading the national carbon-neutral economy, promoting balanced regional development, and responding to low birth rates and declining births, declaring, "We will prepare not only for Chungnam but for the next 50 and 100 years of Korea."

He concluded by saying, "With the determination that any goal set will surely be achieved, I will move forward unwaveringly until the end of the 8th popularly elected administration," and added, "I hope the New Year will be filled with energy and hope in the daily lives of all residents."
