The Jeonnam Association of the Physically Disabled announced on the 30th that it held a 'Love Briquette Sharing Event' for the underprivileged in Jangseong-eup and Hwangryong-myeon of Jangseong-gun, as well as Mujeong-myeon of Damyang-gun, South Jeolla Province.

On this day, more than 100 people participated in the volunteer activity, including staff from the Disability Welfare Division of the South Jeolla Provincial Government, executives and employees from the Jeonnam Association of the Physically Disabled and its 22 city and county branches, as well as representatives from welfare centers and sheltered workshops for the disabled.

This event was organized as a sharing activity for marginalized neighbors in the region, in place of a separate inauguration ceremony following the reappointment of Association President Kim Jongtaek on the 1st. The purpose was to avoid a formal inauguration and instead strengthen the association's role in the community by practicing the values of sharing and solidarity.

The briquette sharing event took place in Jangseong-eup and Hwangryong-myeon of Jangseong-gun, and Mujeong-myeon of Damyang-gun, where a total of 5,000 briquettes, worth approximately 6 million won, were directly delivered to vulnerable households.

President Kim Jongtaek stated, "I chose to replace the inauguration ceremony with the briquette sharing event to give back to the community, rather than celebrate my reappointment personally," and added, "I will continue to work towards creating a warm local community where people with and without disabilities live together."

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Association of the Physically Disabled, established in 1991, is a disability organization currently working to promote the rights and improve the quality of life for about 22,000 members in the South Jeolla region through various activities.
