The Korea-China Design Development Forum announced on the 30th that it participated in a special lecture and exhibition under the theme "How to Design a Self That AI Cannot Imitate" at the College of Arts, Heilongjiang University in Harbin, China, on the 23rd. Artist Choi Gilsu served as the lecturer, engaging with local students about the attitudes and direction creators should adopt in an environment where AI technology is becoming increasingly advanced. This event was part of the "2025 Harbin International Design Exhibition."
During the lecture, Choi emphasized, "AI is a powerful tool, but it cannot replace human experience, emotion, or memory." He continued, "The area that AI cannot imitate is ultimately 'the self before technology'-in other words, one's personal narrative and worldview." He added, "Rather than viewing AI as a competitor, it is more important to consider how to design and accumulate one's own archetypal creative identity."
