Lotte Mall Dongbusan Branch Surpasses 800 Billion Won in Annual Sales
"Establishing Itself as Busan's Leading Shopping Landmark"
Lotte Mall Dongbusan Branch has surpassed 800 billion won in sales this year, demonstrating rapid growth.
The mall achieved 600 billion won in 2023 and 700 billion won in 2024, marking an increase of 100 billion won in sales for three consecutive years. This achievement has solidified its position as a core facility within the Dongbusan Tourism Complex and as a leading multi-purpose shopping destination representing the local commercial district, including Busan.
This success is largely attributed to the enhancement and renewal of brands across all product categories. In the luxury and international fashion segment, new brands such as Michael Kors and Longchamp have been added to strengthen the lineup, while brands including Valentino, Fendi, and Coach Cafe have undergone renovations focusing on expanding their space and providing new customer experiences.
In addition, in line with its status as a premium outlet, various high-end contemporary brands such as AllSaints and Diesel have opened stores, and there has been a strong focus on lifestyle products. As a result, each product category recorded a balanced growth rate of more than 10% compared to the previous year.
The establishment of major anchor tenant stores has also been cited as a key factor in this upward trend. In April, the global fashion brand ZARA opened a store at the Dongbusan Branch with a floor space of 3,523 square meters (1,065 pyeong), making it the largest single-floor store in Korea and the largest in a non-metropolitan area. In addition, sports and outdoor stores such as Nike, Adidas, and The North Face, which are considered highlights of the outlet, have been revamped, leading to a significant increase in visits from younger customers and families.
Tailored strategies for a more diverse customer base have also contributed to the results. With the K-culture boom and the number of foreign tourists visiting Busan exceeding 3 million, there has been a significant increase in visitors to Osiria Tourism Complex, one of Busan's main tourist attractions.
Accordingly, Lotte Mall Dongbusan Branch has conducted marketing targeting foreign tourists in collaboration with travel agencies, tax-free partners, and cruise tourism operators. Compared to last year, sales to foreign tourists recorded a double-digit growth rate of over 70%. Additionally, the mall has established a dedicated VIP lounge for outlet customers and strengthened pet-friendly services, leveraging its suburban outlet characteristics to build a stable foundation for growth.
Choi Hyeongmo, General Manager of Lotte Mall Dongbusan Branch, stated, "I believe the diverse brand strategies and customer-centric operations are what set Lotte Mall Dongbusan Branch apart," adding, "In the new year, we will aim for annual sales of 900 billion won and solidify our position as a key shopping destination representing Busan."
