Samcheok City Gives Warm Welcome to Railway Tourists
On December 30, the Samcheok Tourism and Culture Foundation and Samcheok City announced that they jointly held a welcome event and various activities for railway passengers visiting Samcheok to commemorate the first anniversary of the Donghae Line opening and the first operation of the KTX-Eum at Samcheok Station.

This event was organized to mark a new leap forward for tourism in Samcheok thanks to improved railway accessibility, and to extend a warm welcome to tourists who visited Samcheok on the first KTX-Eum train.
On December 30, at Samcheok Station where the KTX-Eum arrived for the first time, the organizers greeted the first train passengers with welcome messages, handed out commemorative gifts, set up photo zones, and held promotional events for Samcheok tourism.
In particular, the Samcheok Tourism and Culture Foundation and Samcheok City focused on promoting extended stays and encouraging return visits by distributing brochures introducing Samcheok's major tourist attractions, festivals, and experience programs to railway tourists.
A foundation official stated, "The first anniversary of the Donghae Line opening and the first operation of the KTX-Eum represent a major turning point in improving accessibility to Samcheok tourism. We will continue to work closely with Samcheok City to vitalize railway-linked tourism and enhance visitor satisfaction."
Meanwhile, since the opening of the Donghae Line, Samcheok has seen significantly improved transportation convenience with major cities in the Seoul metropolitan and Yeongnam regions. With the launch of the KTX-Eum service, there are high expectations for increased tourist inflow and revitalization of the local economy.
