Lee Gyuchul Achieves Fourth Consecutive Term as Managing Representative Attorney

Oh Inseo, former Chief Prosecutor of the Suwon High Prosecutors’ Office (age 59, 23rd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute), has been elected as a new registered representative attorney at Law Firm Dae-ryuk Aju (Managing Representative Attorney: Lee Gyuchul).
On December 30, Dae-ryuk Aju announced that, at a general meeting of its members held the previous day, three representative attorneys-former Chief Prosecutor Oh Inseo, former Seoul Central District Court Presiding Judge Kim Jindong (age 57, 25th class), and Representative Attorney Kang Heongu (age 51, 32nd class)-were unanimously elected as new registered representatives.

Kim Daehee, a co-founder of the predecessor of Dae-ryuk Aju, Law Firm Dae-ryuk, and current managing representative Lee Gyuchul, were reappointed as registered representatives. Their term of office is two years.
Representative Attorney Oh Inseo is a native of Seoul. He graduated from Seoul Dongsung High School and Korea University School of Law, and passed the 33rd National Judicial Examination. He began his career as a prosecutor at the Jeonju District Prosecutors’ Office and went on to serve as Chief of the Nonsan and Tongyeong Branches, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Goyang Branch of the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors’ Office, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office, and Chief Prosecutor at both the Daegu and Suwon High Prosecutors’ Offices. He also served as Head of the Public Security Department at the Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office, Director of Public Security Planning at the Ministry of Justice, and Head of the Public Security Department (Chief Prosecutor) at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, earning a reputation as a leading public security expert within the prosecution service. After serving as Chief Prosecutor at the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors’ Office, Daegu High Prosecutors’ Office, and Suwon High Prosecutors’ Office, he began practicing law in 2021, working as the representative attorney at Law Firm Hwain before joining Dae-ryuk Aju in July last year.
Representative Attorney Kim Jindong is from Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province. He graduated from Dongguk University High School and Korea University School of Law, and passed the 35th National Judicial Examination. He was appointed as a judge at the Jeonju District Court and served as a judge at the Uijeongbu Branch, Seoul High Court, and as a research judge at the Supreme Court. He also served as Presiding Judge at the Jeonju, Daegu, and Suwon District Courts before working as Presiding Judge at the Seoul Central District Court. He joined Dae-ryuk Aju in 2018. He is recognized for providing effective legal solutions to complex disputes, drawing on his extensive practical experience in criminal, election, labor, and corporate law during his time as a judge.
Representative Attorney Kang Heongu is from Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province. He graduated from Daeyoung High School and Kyung Hee University School of Law, and passed the 42nd National Judicial Examination. He began his legal career in 2006 at Law Firm Dae-ryuk, the predecessor of Dae-ryuk Aju, and after working as an attorney at the Korea Legal Aid Corporation, he joined Dae-ryuk Aju in 2009. He has served as a legal advisor on tax matters to the National Tax Service, a consultant to the Korea Customs Service and various customs offices, and as a legal advisor to the Seoul Metropolitan Government. He is a tax law specialist with extensive practical experience in tax litigation, corporate succession, customs, and corporate taxation. With a wealth of experience in managing corporate tax risks and resolving disputes, he has achieved notable results in tax appeals for large corporations and multinationals, customs and origin disputes, and tax advisory services related to corporate succession and restructuring.
Meanwhile, at the general meeting of Dae-ryuk Aju’s members, it was decided that Managing Representative Attorney Lee Gyuchul would be reappointed. This marks his fourth consecutive term since first taking office in 2017, with previous reappointments in 2019, 2021, and 2023.
Managing Representative Attorney Lee Gyuchul is from Daegu. He graduated from Seonggwang High School and Korea University School of Law, passed the 32nd National Judicial Examination, and completed the 22nd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He was appointed as a judge at the Seoul Western District Court and served as a judge at the Seoul High Court, a research judge (tax division) at the Supreme Court, and as head of the Wonju Branch of the Chuncheon District Court. After starting his legal practice in 2010, he joined Dae-ryuk Aju. In 2016, he served as spokesperson and special prosecutor in the special investigation team for the “Park Geun-hye administration’s influence-peddling scandal involving Choi Soon-sil and others.”
