89 Million Followers Gather in Busan... Busan City Appoints Major Influencers as Honorary Ambassadors

Content Collaboration and Participation in Events and Festivals for One Year
Ten Influencer Teams to Promote Busan’s Appeal Worldwide

Major influencers with a combined total of 89 million followers have gathered in Busan.


On the 30th, Busan City announced that it has appointed 10 domestic influencer teams with significant reach and promotional impact as honorary ambassadors to promote Busan.


As one-person media has become a major promotional channel, the city decided to engage influencers as strategic partners for city promotion. This appointment was made to strengthen social media-based publicity efforts.


The 10 teams appointed as honorary ambassadors are top-tier domestic influencers active in a variety of fields, including K-culture, travel, fashion, animation, and information technology (IT), with a total follower count of approximately 89 million. Their fan base extends not only within Korea but also to overseas audiences in China, English-speaking countries, and Spanish-speaking regions.


Key influencers include 'Gyehyangss', a top-ranked YouTube channel in Korea; 'Onoppa', a leading TikTok channel; 'Shinsama', winner of the influencer category at the Culture and Entertainment Awards; and 'Lilian-nie', recipient of a TikTok Award. In addition, channels in the fields of culture and arts, IT, lifestyle content, and music have also been appointed.


For one year from the date of appointment, the honorary ambassadors will collaborate with Busan City to produce promotional content and participate in major events and festivals, promoting the city's appeal through a variety of activities.


The appointment ceremony was held on the 27th at Domohon. The event included a meeting between Mayor Park Hyungjun and the influencers, the honorary ambassador appointment, a tour of the Domohon facilities, and a policy tour. Participants also experienced major tourist attractions in Busan, such as the Gwangalli Drone Night Show.


With this appointment, Busan City plans to establish a long-term promotional system that fosters cooperation between the private sector and the administration, and to continue city promotion centered on digital content.
