Purne Neighborhood Park in Bojeong-dong, Yongin, Reopens After Redevelopment

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it has completed the redevelopment project for Purne Neighborhood Park, located at 1180 Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu, and has opened it to the public.

Through the redevelopment project, the city improved the 'X-Park Zone' and the central plaza, and created a barefoot trail.

The 'X-Park Zone' underwent a complete remodeling, expanding its area, securing safe distances and reorganizing movement flow to prevent collisions among users. In addition, some of the existing facilities were demolished and equipment was rearranged so that both beginners and advanced users can enjoy the space.

The central plaza of the park was also expanded and the flooring was repaved. Rest areas such as seating walls and pergolas were installed in the plaza to ensure that citizens can relax comfortably.

The park now features a newly constructed 200-meter barefoot trail, which is equipped with additional facilities such as a dust remover, a foot-washing station, and a cleaning tool storage box.

Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "With this redevelopment, Purne Neighborhood Park has been transformed into a multi-purpose leisure space where people can enjoy a variety of activities," adding, "We expect that the increased visits by young people will also revitalize the surrounding commercial district."
