Samcheok City Successfully Concludes 10th Chrysanthemum Exhibition
Achieves Both Healing and Economic Vitality
Samcheok City in Gangwon Province announced on December 30 that the 10th Samcheok Chrysanthemum Exhibition, held for one month from October 24 to November 23 at Samcheok Beach and surrounding areas, concluded successfully.
With the theme of "Providing Autumn Memories and Agricultural Healing Spaces," the event attracted a total of approximately 260,000 visitors, reaffirming its status as Samcheok's representative autumn festival.
During the exhibition period, more than 10,500 chrysanthemum works were displayed at Samcheok Beach, including 70 chrysanthemum sculptures, 430 large chrysanthemums, and over 10,000 small chrysanthemums. The exhibition space was organized by theme, such as Animal & Healing Garden Zone, Samcheok City Promotion Zone, and Character Zone, offering a variety of attractions for both residents and tourists.
Starting with the lighting ceremony to mark the opening, the festival atmosphere was enriched by ongoing cultural club performances, busking, rural healing programs, and photo zones. In particular, booths promoting and selling local agricultural specialties and hands-on experience events received a great response from visitors, generating sales of approximately 36 million won and contributing to increased income for local farmers.
After the exhibition ended, a chrysanthemum distribution event was held, sharing more than 10,000 chrysanthemums from the exhibition with public institutions, organizations, and citizens, extending the meaning of the event to the local community.
A city official stated, "The 10th Chrysanthemum Exhibition provided a time of relaxation and healing for both residents and tourists, and achieved tangible results in revitalizing local tourism. We will continue to promote Samcheok's charm through unique seasonal exhibitions and cultural content."
