Additional Agreement Following the 2024 Special Contribution
Total Special Contribution of 7 Billion KRW to Support 105 Billion KRW in Loans
KB Kookmin Bank announced on December 30 that it will make a special contribution of 4 billion KRW to the Korea Credit Guarantee Foundation to support the business stability of small business owners and self-employed individuals, and based on this, will provide loans totaling 60 billion KRW.
This support follows a previous agreement in 2024, when a special contribution of 3 billion KRW enabled 45 billion KRW in loans. As the loan limit created by the previous contribution was fully utilized, an additional 4 billion KRW was contributed on December 24. As a result, a total special contribution of 7 billion KRW will support 105 billion KRW in loans.
This special contribution targets self-employed individuals who have received consulting from the 'KB Small Business Consulting Center' and obtained a recommendation letter from a regional credit guarantee foundation. The regional credit guarantee foundations will provide preferential guarantee limits of up to 150% within a maximum of 100 million KRW and apply a preferential guarantee fee rate of 0.8% or less per year to help reduce the financial burden on self-employed individuals.
Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Bank launched the 'KB Small Business Consulting Center' in September 2016, the first in the banking sector to combine financial support with non-financial consulting. Currently, 16 centers nationwide, including the Yeouido HUB Center, offer free management consulting in various fields such as commercial area analysis, tax, and legal matters. To date, the bank has provided a total of approximately 62,000 consulting sessions.
A KB Kookmin Bank representative stated, "We hope this expanded special contribution will provide real support to small business owners facing difficulties in securing funds," and added, "We will continue to lead inclusive and productive finance by offering a variety of services that combine financial and non-financial support."
