Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 30 that it was selected as an outstanding local government for local price stabilization for the third consecutive year since 2023, having received a 'Grade B (2nd place)' in the '2025 Local Price Stabilization Management Evaluation' organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety among all cities and counties.
This evaluation was conducted for 243 local governments nationwide, comprehensively assessing performance in three areas: stabilization of local public utility charges, promotion of good price businesses, and efforts to stabilize local prices.
Despite high inflation, Paju City has steadily managed local public utility charges such as water and sewage fees and pay-as-you-throw garbage bag prices, continuously discovered and supported good price businesses, and strengthened on-site inspections to prevent price gouging during holidays and local festivals, thereby making ongoing efforts to stabilize local prices.
As a result of these achievements, Paju City has secured a special grant of 20 million won from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
An official from Paju City stated, "This selection is the result of the combined efforts of citizens, local merchants who cooperated for price stabilization, and public officials who carried out administrative work in the field. We will continue to work with relevant agencies to consistently implement price stabilization policies that citizens can truly feel."
