This vision declaration ceremony is an event organized to officially announce the city's strong commitment to attracting the Paju Peace Economy Special Zone, to expand public consensus among citizens, and to promote the initiative both domestically and internationally. Approximately 200 people, including key guests such as Paju Mayor Kim Kyungil and members of the Citizen Promotion Group, are expected to attend the event.

The event will begin with a pre-ceremony performance by the Paju City Art Troupe, followed by the opening ceremony. Afterward, Paju Mayor Kim Kyungil will present the "Paju Peace Economy Special Zone Vision," sharing with citizens the blueprint for peace, economic growth, and future industries that Paju aims to pursue.

In addition, the appointment ceremony for the second term of the "Citizen Promotion Group for Attracting the Peace Economy Special Zone," which was formed on December 18, will also take place during the event. As the grand finale, calligrapher and lettering artist Lee Hwaseon will conduct a live brush calligraphy demonstration. Mayor Kim Kyungil, guests, and representatives of the Citizen Promotion Group will join in a large brush calligraphy performance, visually expressing their commitment to attracting the Paju Peace Economy Special Zone and further heightening the excitement at the event.

Mayor Kim Kyungil stated, "I hope that the passionate wishes of Paju's 540,000 citizens, united with one heart and one mind for the attraction of the Peace Economy Special Zone, will be widely conveyed through this vision declaration ceremony."

Meanwhile, the Peace Economy Special Zone was established on a legal basis with the enactment and implementation of the "Act on the Designation and Operation of Peace Economy Special Zones" in 2023. This special zone is designed to actively promote corporate investment by offering various incentives, such as tax benefits and support for infrastructure.

With the Ministry of Unification's official announcement on December 19 of the "First Basic Plan for Peace Economy Special Zones," which includes the designation of around four Peace Economy Special Zones between 2026 and 2027, the pace of the Peace Economy Special Zone project is expected to accelerate.
