Jun Hyun-moo Offers Apology During Award Acceptance Speech
As some cast members of the MBC variety show "I Live Alone" have faced allegations of illegal medical procedures, broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo has issued an apology regarding the controversy.

On the 29th, Jun Hyun-moo took the stage as the recipient of the Entertainer of the Year Award at the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards, held at the MBC Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and said, "Although today is meant to be a festive occasion, this is the first time I have attended with such a heavy and apologetic heart."
He continued, "Every year, viewers have shown tremendous support and love by selecting 'I Live Alone' as 'the most beloved variety show among Koreans.' However, I feel that, including myself, we have failed to meet those expectations, so I cannot simply be happy about receiving this award."
Jun Hyun-moo added, "Since I may not have another chance to speak about this, I want to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to everyone. I am truly sorry." He went on to say, "I will take this award not as a recognition of what I have done well, but as a message to do better in the future. In 2026, I will strive to make 'I Live Alone' a show that brings you even more joy and does not cause discomfort in any way."
He also expressed, "To our production team, who are working hard in these difficult times, I love you and I am sorry." He added, "In 2026, 'I Live Alone' will launch the 'Renewal Project.' We will do our best to show you a changed and improved version of the show."
Previously, following allegations that broadcaster Park Narae, a cast member of "I Live Alone," and SHINee's Key, among others, had received illegal medical procedures from the so-called "injection auntie," they stepped down from the show.
Jun Hyun-moo also became embroiled in controversy when a photo of him receiving an IV drip in a car, which was aired on "I Live Alone" in January 2016, resurfaced.
Regarding this, Jun Hyun-moo's agency stated that the procedure was conducted lawfully. According to the 2016 medical records released by his agency SM C&C on the 19th, Jun Hyun-moo received treatment at a hospital on January 14, 20, and 26 of that year. The records listed diagnoses such as bronchitis, chronic laryngitis, acute tonsillitis, and gastritis.
