Three Police Officers Killed, Eight Injured
Turkish police engaged in a gunfight with the radical terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) in the suburbs of Istanbul, resulting in a total of nine deaths.

According to local media such as Anadolu Agency on the 29th (local time), a shootout broke out during an IS elimination operation by police in the residential area of Elmalik Village, located in downtown Yalova, a city in northwestern Turkey, on the morning of the same day.
Ali Yerlikaya, Turkey's Minister of Interior, announced that three police officers were killed and eight were injured in this incident. The police killed six IS-affiliated terrorists.
Previously, on the 25th, Turkish prosecutors revealed that they had detected indications that IS was plotting terrorist attacks to coincide with the New Year. They launched simultaneous raids through the police and arrested 115 suspects.
