Kangwon Land Holds Opening Ceremony for Taebaek Dormitory for Resident Employees in Taebaek

Accelerating Collaborative Efforts for Improved Employee Working Conditions and Regional Balanced Development

Kangwon Land (Acting CEO Chulkyu Choi) announced on the 29th that it had completed the construction of the new employee dormitory, Taebaek Dormitory, in the Taebaek area to promote balanced development in the coal industry transition region and improve the residential welfare of its employees, and held an opening ceremony.

Approximately 100 people attended the opening ceremony held at Taebaek Dormitory in Hwangji-dong, Taebaek, including Chulkyu Choi, Acting CEO of Kangwon Land; Woo-hyuk Lim, Chairman of the Kangwon Land Labor Union; Sangho Lee, Mayor of Taebaek; Jae-chang Ko, Chairman of the Taebaek City Council; Sanghoon Bae, Chairman of the Taebaek City Pending Issues Committee; as well as local community representatives.


Kangwon Land has been promoting the construction of Taebaek Dormitory in cooperation with Taebaek City, the Taebaek City Council, and the Taebaek City Pending Issues Committee.


Taebaek Dormitory is a six-story building with a total of 140 independent residential units (one person per room), as well as amenities for resident employees such as a staff cafeteria, laundry room, and lounge areas.


The opening of Taebaek Dormitory is also expected to contribute to increasing the resident population of Taebaek and revitalizing the local commercial district.

Acting CEO Choi stated, "Taebaek Dormitory is a collaborative space created by Kangwon Land and the local community to improve the living environment for employees with diverse work schedules and to promote regional balanced development," adding, "We will continue our efforts to enhance employee welfare and foster mutual growth with the local community in the future."
