This workshop, being held at the High1 Grand Hotel with about 20 officials including Kim Kyunghoon, Director of Gangwon Land Mind Filling Center, and Choi Hoonseok, President of the Korean Psychological Association, aims to promote cooperation between the two organizations for the activation of addiction prevention research.

On the first day, the 29th, participants discussed topics such as joint academic research themes and operational strategies between Gangwon Land and the Korean Psychological Association, as well as AI-based casino user protection systems. On the second day, the 30th, they will observe an over-immersion prevention program for users in connection with the Gangwon Land Wellness Center.

Through this workshop, the two organizations agreed to jointly hold an academic symposium next year on the topics of gambling problem prevention strategies and improving awareness of casino culture. They also discussed the feasibility of AI implementation, design, and development methods for behavioral activation techniques, a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy aimed at preventing over-immersion among casino users.

Since signing a business agreement in June this year, Gangwon Land and the Korean Psychological Association have set joint goals of gambling prevention, mental health promotion, expansion of psychological services, and fulfillment of social responsibility. They have been pursuing various collaborative projects, including co-hosting the 2025 annual academic conference, presenting gambling-related research papers, and awarding outstanding papers.
