Korea Life Insurance Association Implements Organizational Restructuring Including Establishment of 'Civil Complaints Service Team'

Establishment of Self-Regulation Department
Strengthening Consumer Protection Functions

The Korea Life Insurance Association announced on December 29 that it will implement an organizational restructuring and personnel changes to prioritize consumer rights protection amid the rapidly changing financial environment.


Through this restructuring, a Self-Regulation Department will be newly established to strengthen consumer protection functions. The Self-Regulation Department will oversee the Solicitation Order Management Team and the Advertising Review Team, which will perform self-regulatory functions to prevent the misselling of insurance products and to strengthen the pre-screening of insurance advertisements.


Korea Life Insurance Association Implements Organizational Restructuring Including Establishment of 'Civil Complaints Service Team'

A dedicated team, the Civil Complaints Service Team, will also be established to handle insurance consumer complaints and consultations. The Civil Complaints Service Team will support the efficient operation of work such as handling insurance consumer complaints, providing consultations and information related to life insurance, and managing the insurance subscription inquiry system.


To enhance consumer access to the association, a Jeonju Branch will be established under the Honam Regional Headquarters (Gwangju). This is intended to strengthen consultation functions for consumers in the North Jeolla region and improve convenience for those taking the insurance planner qualification exam.


The organizational restructuring and personnel changes will take effect from January 2 of next year.
